Twenty-three physicians from Eye Consultants of Atlanta –the largest ophthalmology practice in Georgia– are recognized as Top Doctors in the January issue of Modern Luxury Medicine + Doctors magazine and in the April issue of The Atlantan magazine. Eye Consultants of Atlanta physicians consistently appear on the list, which annually honors notable physicians among the area’s healthcare landscape. 

Among the 23 Eye Consultants of Atlanta physicians recognized on the 2024 Top Doctors list, 20 physicians received the Top Doctors award and two received the Rising Star award. A graduate of the University of Georgia, Dr. Anand earned a degree in biological sciences. He received his medical degree from East Tennessee State University – Quillen College of Medicine. Dr. Mark Bordenca is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus. He completed residency training in ophthalmology at the University of Alabama Birmingham and fellowship training at Eye Consultants of Atlanta. Dr. Kevin A. Budman is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus. A graduate of the University of Maryland, Dr. Budman earned a degree in physiology and neurobiology. He received his medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. Dr. Budman completed internship and residency training at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. He received a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology at Eye Consultants of Atlanta. Dr. Sapna Desai* is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in cataract surgery and comprehensive ophthalmology. A graduate of Illinois Institute of Technology, Dr. Desai earned a degree in molecular biochemistry and biophysics and a minor in business administration. She received her medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Desai completed an internship in preliminary internal medicine at West Suburban Medical Center. She received residency training at the Medical College of Wisconsin Eye Institute. Dr. Desai is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Matthew Fabrizio is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in glaucoma and related diseases. A graduate of the University of Illinois, Dr. Fabrizio earned a degree in biochemistry. He received his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria. Dr. Fabrizio completed residency training in ophthalmology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and fellowship training in glaucoma at Emory University. Dr. James H. Frank is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in retina, vitreous, and diseases of the macula. A graduate of Southern Methodist University, Dr. Frank earned a degree in biology. He received his medical degree from the University of Illinois. Dr. Frank completed internship training at Ascension Saint Joseph’s Hospital and residency training at the University of Rochester. Dr. J. Michael Roach is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in pediatric ophthalmology, adult strabismus, cataracts, and lens implant surgery. A graduate of Davidson College, Dr. Roach earned a degree in biology. He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Roach completed internship training at the University of Hawaii and residency training at Wake Forest University Eye Center. Dr. Shivani Sethi is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus. Dr. Sethi earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia. Dr. Whitted completed an internship at Scripps Mercy Hospital.
