Twenty physicians from Eye Consultants of Atlanta –the largest ophthalmology practice in Georgia– appear on metro Atlanta’s Top Doctors list in Modern Luxury Medicine + Doctors magazine’s January issue. Eye Consultants of Atlanta physicians consistently appear on the list, which annually honors notable physicians among the area’s healthcare landscape. 

Among the 20 Eye Consultants of Atlanta physicians recognized on the 2023 Top Doctors list, 17 physicians received the Top Doctors award and three received the Rising Star award. Dr. Nikhil Anand* is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in comprehensive ophthalmology and cataract surgery. A graduate of the University of Georgia, Dr. Anand earned a degree in biological sciences. He graduated from East Tennessee State University – Quillen College of Medicine, where he received his medical degree. Dr. Anand completed an internship at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine. He received residency training at Emory Eye Center at Emory University. Dr. Anand is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Georgia Society of Ophthalmology, Tennessee Medical Association, and the American Medical Association. Dr. Kevin A. Budman is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in pediatric ophthalmology. A graduate of the University of Maryland, Dr. Budman earned a degree in physiology and neurobiology. He graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, where he received his medical degree. Dr. Budman completed internship and residency training at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. He received a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology at Eye Consultants of Atlanta. Dr. Joseph Christenbury* is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in cornea, external diseases, refractive (LASIK) surgery, and cataract surgery. Dr. Sapna Desai* is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in cataract surgery and comprehensive ophthalmology. A graduate of Illinois Institute of Technology, Dr. Desai earned a degree in molecular biochemistry and biophysics and a minor in business administration. She graduated from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, where she received her medical degree. Dr. Desai completed an internship in preliminary internal medicine at West Suburban Medical Center. She received residency training at the Medical College of Wisconsin Eye Institute. Dr. Desai is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. She practices at Piedmont Hospital and Brookhaven locations.

Dr. James H. Frank is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in vitreo-retinal disease. A graduate of Southern Methodist University, Dr. Frank earned a degree in biology. He graduated from the University of Illinois, where he received his medical degree. Dr. Frank completed an internship at St. Joseph’s Hospital and received residency training at the University of Rochester. He completed a fellowship in diseases and surgery of the retina, vitreous, and macula at Eye Consultants of Atlanta. Dr. Frank is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Flying Physicians, the Georgia Society of Ophthalmology, and the Vitreous Society. Dr. Rajat Ghaiy is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in neuro-ophthalmology and ophthalmic plastic, reconstructive, and cosmetic surgery. Dr. Ghaiy earned an undergraduate degree at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He graduated from Albany Medical College, where he received his medical degree. Dr. Ghaiy completed an internship at Albany Medical Internal Medicine Group and received residency training at SUNY Downstate Eye Center. Dr. Kozarsky completed an internship at Bellevue and Veterans Administration Hospitals. Dr. W. Barry Lee is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in cornea, external diseases, and refractive surgery. A graduate of the University of Kentucky, Dr. Lee earned a degree in biological sciences and chemistry. He graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, where he received his medical degree. Dr. Lee completed an internship at the Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Dr. Brian D. A graduate of Duke University, Dr. Long earned a degree in zoology. He graduated from the Medical College of Georgia, where he received his medical degree. Dr. J. Michael Roach is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in cataract and lens implant surgery. A graduate of Davidson College, Dr. Roach earned a degree in biology. He graduated from the Medical College of Georgia, where he received his medical degree. Dr. Roach completed an internship at the University of Hawaii. He received residency training at Wake Forest University Eye Center. Dr. Shivani Sethi is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus. Dr. Sethi earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia. She graduated from Mercer University School of Medicine, where she received her medical degree. Dr. Sethi completed an internship at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. She received residency training at the Medical College of Georgia. She completed fellowships at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and at the University of Pennsylvania’s Scheie Eye Institute. Dr. C. Howell Tucker is a board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist specializing in cataract surgery and comprehensive ophthalmology. Dr. Tucker earned an undergraduate degree from Mercer University. He graduated from the Medical College of Georgia, where he received his medical degree. Dr. Wong completed her internship  and residency training at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. She received a fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at Eye Consultants of Atlanta.
