Drs. W. Barry Lee, Hans W. Andrews, and Joseph Christenbury are among a select group of eye surgeons invited to collaborate with Aurion Biotech and Emmecell on this exciting area of regenerative medicine, exploring the potential to restore corneal clarity by replacing dysfunctional endothelial cells—in lieu of cornea transplantation.
This year, our cornea team had the opportunity to share their experience and research as one of the few sites in the world to have these technologies available to our patients. Eye Consultants of Atlanta was invited to lecture at the Sunshine Eye Meeting in Miami, the Kiawah Eye Meeting in South Carolina, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) in Washington D.C., EuCornea in Porto, Portugal, the SICSSO meeting in Sardinia, Italy, and the Georgia Society of Ophthalmology Annual Meeting.
