Dr. Aleksandr A. Kruglov is a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist specializing in adult vitreoretinal surgery. He completed his fellowship at the University of Kentucky/Retina Associates of Kentucky, following an Ocular Oncology fellowship at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Dr. Kruglov completed his ophthalmology residency at the Hamilton Eye Institute, University of Tennessee Health Science Center, after a transitional year at Methodist University Hospital. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University and holds dual Bachelor of Science (Honors) degrees in Physics and Finance from Queen’s University in Ontario, Canada. Dr. Kruglov’s research has been published in leading journals, including Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and The Journal of Cell Biology. His scholarly contributions include studies on orbital reconstruction in retinoblastoma patients and the role of actin filaments in ciliary membrane dynamics, as well as multiple case reports and presentations on ocular tumors and surgical management of orbital disease. He is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is an active member of the American Society of Retina Specialists. Dedicated to advancing patient care through both innovative research and clinical expertise, Dr. Kruglov focuses on the management of complex retinal diseases.
