Dr. Mohney practices consultative and comprehensive ophthalmology with special interest and training in cataract surgery. As the most senior comprehensive ophthalmologist at Eye Consultants of Atlanta, he addresses a wide range of concerns, from routine screenings, to follow-up for ocular pathology, such as glaucoma or diabetes. Dr. Mohney performs cataract and lens implant operations using the small incision and "no stitch" technique. Annually, he seeks advanced special training with some of the world’s leading experts to keep abreast of the newest technologies including astigmatic and bifocal cataract implants,with the goal being to decrease dependency on spectacles after cataract surgery.

After completing his residency, Dr. Mohney practiced at the Watson Clinic in Lakeland, Florida for four years before joining Eye Consultants of Atlanta. He assumed the practice of noted Atlanta ophthalmologist, Thomas Manchester, in 1989. His surgical volume approaches 1,000 cases per year at Piedmont Eye. Dr. Mohney has taken care of numerous leaders in the community, as well as family members of other physicians and eye doctors.
When not in the office, Dr. Mohney may be seen driving around Atlanta in his 1941 Ford Woodie wagon. He has also become quite adept at rebuilding the carburetor on a regular basis.
