SCHEDULING APPOINTMENTS AT OUR LOCATIONS
We dedicate ourselves to delivering the very finest service to each of our patients, at every location. Our offices provide care for a wide variety of eye conditions. To efficiently serve you, we work by appointment. This addresses the value of your time and assures that specialized personnel and equipment are available for your particular needs. However, if you develop a problem that needs immediate attention, we will make every effort to accommodate you. Because of unanticipated problems and emergencies, your appointment may sometimes be delayed. We will make every effort to keep such delays to a minimum and will keep you informed of any delay.
As a courtesy to other patients and our staff, please call the office as soon as possible if you are unable to keep your appointment or if you are going to be late.
When scheduling appointments, please be aware that during your initial visit and occasionally thereafter, your eyes may be dilated. Although many people can drive after dilation, we encourage you to bring a driver for your return home from the appointment.
Please contact one of our locations to schedule an appointment.
The Eye Examination
For your first visit, please bring in all eyeglasses and contact lenses that you currently wear. You can expect that your visit for a routine eye examination will take 45 minutes to an hour.
The Eye Consultants of Atlanta staff is committed to individualized and personalized care. The examination is usually performed in several stages. Initially you will be accompanied to an examination room where one of our staff members will perform preliminary testing. Depending upon these results, the doctor will then examine and consult with you. If necessary, further specialized testing may be done, such as visual field testing, corneal topography, slit lamp photography, retinal photography, kertometry, and A-scans. Once the testing is completed, the doctor will discuss the findings and recommendations with you (and your family if you desire).
